FAQ

The questions we hear most. Use the page search (top-right) if you don’t see what you’re looking for.

It’s free while in beta. No usage caps, no per-order fees, no hidden tiers. We’ll announce pricing before exiting beta and current installs will get a generous transition.

No. The app is built specifically for stores on Basic, Shopify, and Advanced plans that don’t have access to Shopify’s native B2B catalogs. It works on Plus too, but on Plus you may prefer the built-in B2B features.

Will my discounts work on every Shopify theme?

Section titled “Will my discounts work on every Shopify theme?”

The pricing engine works regardless of theme. The registration form needs a theme that supports app sections — most modern themes (Dawn, Sense, Refresh, etc.) do. If you’re on an older theme that doesn’t, you can still use everything except the registration form.

The Quick Start walks through an end-to-end install in about ten minutes — install, create a group, tag a customer, verify checkout. Adding a registration form on top adds another ~5 minutes.

Can I import my existing wholesale customers?

Section titled “Can I import my existing wholesale customers?”

Yes, but the import is manual today. If your existing wholesale buyers are tagged in Shopify with a tag you control, you can:

  1. Create a group in the app and set its auto-tag to the existing tag you’re already using.
  2. Use Settings → Sync from tags to scan your customer list for that tag and link those customers into the new group.

Bulk CSV import is on the roadmap.

What if I already have wholesale customers tagged with vip or similar?

Section titled “What if I already have wholesale customers tagged with vip or similar?”

You have two options:

  1. Use the existing tag as a group’s auto-tag. Set it once when creating the group. From then on, the app manages the tag for new group members; the existing customers keep their tag.
  2. Migrate to the standard tag. Create the group first (it’ll default to wholesale-<slug>), then bulk-edit your existing customers’ tags in Shopify to remove the old tag and add the new one.

Do my wholesale customers see different prices on product pages?

Section titled “Do my wholesale customers see different prices on product pages?”

Yes — once they’re signed in, product pages show their wholesale price instead of the retail price. Cart and checkout follow the same rule. Guests see retail prices unless you’ve turned on Hide prices for guests in settings.

Does the discount work for guests if they have an account?

Section titled “Does the discount work for guests if they have an account?”

Discounts only apply to signed-in customers. A guest checkout (no account) pays retail, even if their email matches a wholesale customer record.

What if a customer is in two groups by accident?

Section titled “What if a customer is in two groups by accident?”

The app keeps a single membership row per customer, so this shouldn’t happen through the normal UI. If a customer somehow ends up tagged into two groups (e.g. someone manually added a second wholesale tag in Shopify), the higher-priority group wins at checkout.

Can I show the wholesale price next to the retail price?

Section titled “Can I show the wholesale price next to the retail price?”

Not directly through the app — the storefront sees a single price per product per visitor. Some merchants use theme customisations to display “Retail: $X / Wholesale: $Y” for tagged customers; that’s a theme project, not an app one.

Can I have a different baseline discount per customer instead of per group?

Section titled “Can I have a different baseline discount per customer instead of per group?”

No, baseline discounts are always per group. If you need per-customer pricing, create a group of one and set the discount there — but at that point, a price rule on a specific product is usually a better match.

Does the discount stack with Shopify discount codes?

Section titled “Does the discount stack with Shopify discount codes?”

It depends on the code’s settings. Shopify lets you mark a discount code as combinable with product discounts; if the code is combinable, it stacks on top of the wholesale price. Otherwise, Shopify chooses whichever discount benefits the buyer most.

What happens if I set a fixed price higher than the retail price?

Section titled “What happens if I set a fixed price higher than the retail price?”

The buyer pays retail. The app’s “best price wins” logic always picks the lowest of retail, baseline, rule, and tier — so a misconfigured rule can’t accidentally charge more than retail.

Do volume tiers consider items already in the cart?

Section titled “Do volume tiers consider items already in the cart?”

Yes. The cart quantity is summed across variants of the same product when checking the threshold. Different products are evaluated separately — buying 25 of product A and 25 of product B does not reach a “buy 50 or more” tier.

Into the Registrations queue inside the app. You’ll also receive an email notification at your shop’s notification email address each time a new application comes in (you can turn this off in Registrations → Email settings).

Can I require manual document upload (e.g. resale certificate)?

Section titled “Can I require manual document upload (e.g. resale certificate)?”

File uploads aren’t a built-in field type in v1. As a workaround, ask applicants to email the document separately and add a note in the form’s description telling them where to send it. Then approve only after you’ve received and reviewed the document.

Can I have multiple forms for different markets?

Section titled “Can I have multiple forms for different markets?”

Yes. Create as many forms as you need, place each on its own storefront page, and review submissions in the queue. The Form column shows which form an application came from.

In the app’s secure database, separately from your Shopify store data. We never ship your customer data to third parties.

All shop-scoped data is scheduled for deletion within 48 hours. The wholesale tags previously applied to your customers in Shopify remain on those customers — you’d need to remove them manually if you want them gone.

Yes. When a buyer submits a privacy request through Shopify, any wholesale registration and group membership tied to that customer is removed automatically. You don’t need to do anything.

Use the Help menu in the app. We’re a small team, we read every message, and we usually reply within a business day.

Not yet — we’re still iterating fast and we don’t want to commit to dates we can’t keep. If a missing feature is blocking you, send us a note: a clear use case is the fastest way to move something up the list.
